When the chairman said pitou is stronger than him and that he himself was around knov and morel's strength level that was before he went off and spent days charging up his powers like pikachu in a power plant. Killua saw him in the forest earlier on and was like fuck no, i'm not going in this direction. He is wearing his 'heart' shirt which means hes going serious. Which also explains that heart gesture he made at the end of the episode. **TL;DR** Since saying pitou was stronger than him he powered up big time
