The misconception of Hisoka is that he gets turned on from fighting strong opponents. He still a predator because he sees the potential in Killua and Gon. He thinks they can be stronger then any adult hes met.

Togashi makes characters that make you re-think why you like them all the time on purpose. The bad guys progressive show you worse and worse sides of them. To be fair to Pouf all his stuff occurred on one crazy stressful night and mostly in his own mind. Amenz is forgetting Hisoka gets excited by Chrollo too and gets off to slicing necks open. His kink is murdering people at the top of their game/field. Anyone can get it not just kids. His first words after returning were 'Can he put it in' to the Tiger Zodiac. Pouf just wants the Meruem to be the best Ant King can be. He's technically Meruem's older brother who acts like his overbearing mom. He 'sus' for nobody but Meruem while Hisoka wants everybody. Netero and Regular Meruem would still beat Big Gon. Netero too fast and Meruem is probably just as strong or slightly weaker but way more durable and definitely smarter. You need broken abilities to beat either of these guys not just power.
