technically neither is ice. its just the solid form of water. aokiji is different than kizaru in terms of being a logia. aokiji can pretty much alter the degree of his chill chill fruit. from like regular ice to straight up super dry ice like sub zero temperatures. kizaru cant alter light. light will always go at the same rate. aokiji can break apart because im guessing his dna is in a way part of the element now so hes able to reconstruct himself like when u slash water but it reconstitutes itself again. hes not the ice ice man. its as the name implies, the chill chill fruit. he can go as low in temperatures as he wants in contrast to Ace's ability unless he learned to hone the blue flames within his df cause blue flames are the hotter than red flames of course.

during Blackbeard's fight with Ace, Blackbeard told Ace that his dark dark fruit is a logia type, but objects can't pass through him like any other logia devil fruit because his dark dark fruit is a special type of logia...rewatch a clip of that exchange. when the strawhats fought Aokiji, Luffy hit him and he disintegrated and then reattached himself (logia type) and froze Luffy, rewatch that right after an earthquake, once the water recedes, you know that a tsunami is coming

Aokiji is Logia, he can not get hit like other Logias. Blackbeard is the only Logia that can get hit. In fact, when Blackbeard gets hit, he feels pain a lot more than others.

Unless Shanks has eaten a DF since saving Luffy in the beginning of the story, he is just a pure Haki beast, as he could swim. Shows you that you dont need a Devil Fruit to match up with the top tier, which gives hope to guys like Zoro at the end of the story :)

The information about Black Beard getting the fruit has been mentioned during Ace and BB fight. BB said that he read about the darkness fruit in a book and was searching for it. He was with White Beard to increase his chances of finding it. At that time we don't know that Thach was a division commander. On WB ship the person who finds the fruit gets to eat it. BB said to Ace that is why I killed Thach and took the fruit. Thach and others don't know what that fruit was but BB knows. If you remember Buggy flashback in episode8 Shanks said that devil fruits fetch a lot of money and that is why pirates search for them. If they find one while defeating other pirate group, they will take it either to sell or consume. It was mentioned that there is a book about devil fruits and it has detailed information about how every fruit looks and what it's powers are. Sanji too mentioned about that book in Thriller Bark. At Ennis Lobby spandam said they don't know what powers Kaku and Kalifa's fruits have. That means either all fruit's information is not in the book or Spandam has no knowledge or access to the book.
