I wanted to comment (again) about how much I really enjoy your guy's reactions. I've rewatched One Piece more times than I can remember, and you guys finally saw something that I've never noticed every time I watched through. It didn't occur to me that Dadan had red beads like Ace wears in the future. That blew my mind and really brought up the feels similar to my first time seeing these arcs. Edit: It's kind of poetic that Ace always wants to inherit something from the parental figures he chooses to admire. He rejected Roger and Garp, but he inherited his biological mother's last name, Whitebeard's symbol, and Dadan's fashion lol

Luffy got that scar under his eye because he stabbed himself to show how much of a man he was to Shanks. This was left out of the anime for censorship reasons, lmao

Actually the special Episode of East Blue: Episode of Luffy shows it, the special kinda follows more with the manga version. Plus they wouldn't have to watch all of the special episode cause it's just a recap of the east blue saga

If you guys wonder about Luffy's scar under his eye, the anime will never show it. You can see it from chapter 1 in the manga. It is in the first few panels.

Just to let you guys know. Ace said to Luffy “If it wasn’t for you and the Sabo “situation” I wouldn’t have wanted to live” and then separately said “If you ever see Dadan again say hi for me”

Think about it yall. If Sabo had taken the time to go get Luffy and Ace by the time they were ready to set sail his father would have already known he was missing and just caught him again + killed Ace and Luffy on the spot. Sabo had to get out of the country QUICK before anyone noticed he was gone. Sabo also probably figured that with him gone his Father wouldnt have any reason to kill Ace and Luffy (or more likely that he wouldnt be able to find them since with grey terminal gone they would live their lives entirely in the mountains) so it wasnt like he was leaving them to die or anything. Lets not forget that those mountains and forest are littered with really strong monster animals you know? Soldiers serving nobles wouldnt be able to penetrate them just to search for a couple kids to get revenge on. Sabos basically saying "Im trusting that you guys are alive and im gonna GTFO and meet up with yall whenever you guys set sail as well". Sabo just underestimated how depraved the Celestial Dragons really are, but its not like he had a choice of another day because their arrival is what lowered the security enough for him to escape his house in the first place. He made the right play, honestly. Getting his friends wouldve just killed them, staying wouldve drained him of his humanity, this was his only option.

I think the reason he didn't go to so them was because the only way to dadan's house was through the forest and the gray terminal and there were people with order's to shoot anyone on site and he might have rather chose to leave the country where he could not even breathe and keep his brothers in danger so thats why he set sail without meeting them! Because he tried to meet them but nobody let him.
