I agree. Also, it's usually the left-side hitter, not right-side. And I think the whole point of Hinata's growth as a volleyball player is that he's never going to be the "ace," but that being "the greatest decoy" is just as amazing.

2020-12-19 16:44:09 +0000 UTCLycan for the past few streams you seem to be equating the ace as the mvp which is not what that position is in haikyuu. If that was the case then I'd agree that asahi is not living up to that title. But that title in this series seems to actually refer to a right wing spiker that is great at breaking through 2+ blockers. That title refers to asahi cuz he is currently the best right wing spiker since whenever he is passed the ball he is able to break through the blockers with pure force - Tanaka seems like the next best candidate for the title once asahi finishes his third year. I do think hinata will eventually inherit that spot once he learns how to break through three blockers on a consistent basis. If I had to guess hinata will be considered the ace when he is a third year since he is still currently learning how to improve his game
