Not only that but also because if you watched it as it was coming out a lot of episodes took a while to be released. So by the time new episodes came out you forgot little things. Also oda has a health problem and takes breaks which sometimes are very long. So that adds to the time since you watched those episodes. Mainly a refresher.

Rayleigh hands them each a Vivre Card, saying that he is also a wanted man so he would take the ship somewhere private. He says that it will take three days to coat it. Grateful for the vivre cards, the Straw Hat Pirates begin to split up.

When they were running from the Kumas Luffy shouted to hide somewhere on Sabaody and then meet up in 3 days once shit had cooled down. Obviously after they got blown away its impossible to meet in 3 days, but the message Luffy put on his arm referenced it because he knew it was something the Straw Hats would understand

Fun Fact: In the manga they didn’t show Luffy’s face for a couple of chapters and the anime showed his face right off the bat, which makes sense because honestly he doesn’t look drastically different besides the scar and as for Choppers hat is still the same one but he put a spherical padding around it and the longest time I thought he got a new one but it was still the same but modified.
