No he doesn't. Lol this man works 100 hours week on his manga and you think he manages the production of an entire different industry on top of that workload? C'mon son. Sure, every once and a while he'll pitch filler ideas but generally speaking he has nothing to do with the production of the anime. Shueshia sells ownership rights off to the highest bidder once an anime begins production. Any basic Google search will net you the answers you're looking for. Don't take my word for it.

If you want the "real" experience then read the manga. That is the original story that Oda creates every week. Everything else is a mere adaptation. They've made it clear that they know the risks of watching the anime but they don't know that it will get worse lol. Maybe they could read the correlated chapter and do a compare and contrast of the content?

Just FYI the next arc is 18 more episodes than Manga chapters. Which means they covered less than 1 chapter per episode. When shows like AOT cover from 2 to 4 chapters an episode...and the pacing never gets better.

Just go to one pace. Its there for a reason and is so much better. The anime stans will say different but One Pace is literally how One Piece is supposed to be because it cuts out filler and padding that are in every canon episode now. So the anime itself is not true to how one piece is.

Pacing is so ass post time skip. I don’t care that the manga was close to the anime that they had to... they could’ve went seasonal but toei animation got to greedy and decided to sacrifice the pacing just to make more money. As long as you guys know not to hate one piece for the pacing, but hate toei for it lol if you read the manga, the experience would be waaaay better.

Yeah pacing gets worse and the recap time is longer maybe do 3 episodes or more but tbh your schedule is already a lot so for this and the next arc I'm sorry for the pacing but don't rush it. It's SO worth it when the fire episodes happen so funny rushhhhh 🥳🥳💕

i believe when this arc was coming out in the anime it was actually really close to where the manga was. only be a few chapters. i think.so the pacing had to get really slow.

i highly recommend not watching one pace because its good to experience the show in its entirety but for people with short attention span or those who don't have a lot of time, it can be a good option.

This is why this arc was booty.... an entire episode of the annoying laughing and running through the door took the whole freaking episode. I cant stand annoying laughs so this arc and thriller bark was hard to get through for me... especially watching this slow pace weekly

Don’t worry about it, we all had the same thoughts when we watched the show. Hordy and Caesar just didn’t feel like they were on post-timeskip straw hat level. They were basically new world appetizers for the crew.
