The fights get a lot better as the series goes on.

One piece isn't about fights so what they show is normally the ending. But yeah recently in the current arc Oda has given permission for the fights to be longer but you guys not there yet so hopefully you will like that.

Here's the thing with the fights, If we stick to one fight, time still moves, but it doesn't for all the other parts we have to see. People got confused in other anime on how fast some fights were because they focused on the fight, and then switched back before the fight. Also switching allows for interruptions and people to enter a fight without it appearing like a plot device. All the plot needs to be set up to a certain point before the fight happens.

I'm gonna keep it vague so I don't spoil but you need to rewatch some key episodes.

Not all gas is combustible. @lycan

Im sure you have heard this a bunch of times but the manga has way better pacing for the fights. They still go back and forth between scenes but it feels way more natural and handles the anticipation better.

Just some setup feedback, and others might think different, but the light behind you guys is kinda hard on the eyes. Maybe it has a setting that's not so intense on camera but when it was changing it would get pretty hard on the eyes at times. Anyone else agree, disagree, or maybe not even notice?

the switching is also to let you know that everything is going on at the same time as the fight is. oda does do that in the manga as well but not as noticeable as the anime.

There are plenty of inert gases and we only saw it combust while in slime form. Maybe becoming a gas made it inert.

Good catch that the gas didn't combust in Room B but maybe it isn't designed to explode in gas form. We only saw it combust while in slime form. There are many gases that don't combust, to be fair. I assume Caesar designed it so it lasts.

Yeah, the fire should have ignited the entire gas cloud :/

I totally agree that cutting between the fights is one of the worst things about One Piece

One Piece is my favorite series but I’d say are fights are the weakest part of it. There good but not great.

Vergo is just a strong dude. You guys are underestimating vergo. He is better than law in almost everything. Law just have an op fruit. There’s a reason why vergo was asked by doffy to infiltrate the navy because he is strong.
