Oda won't disappoint, if you need any reassurance just remember we're all here watching you watch it. Also the environments probably wont' bother you cause it's not like a desert or snow area where everything covered in sand or snow and that's 90% of every background. Also I like if you pause at 17:50 you can actually read the competitors names, it's not just random scribbles.

Yo Luffy does dumb stuff all the time! They way I see it tho is that Luffy is just so care free, so he doesn't even think of what he's doing, he just does it. Makes for great comedic scenes tho!
