Doflamingo explicitly said that if the King told his people about Doffy blackmailing that he would just kill his citizens anyways, so he couldn't tell them. Maybe you just missed that part. He was also fighting with the back of his blade so he wasn't cutting anybody with his sword.

I feel like everytime the other kings didn't show off their physical strength or got beat up you weren't having it and were calling them unworthy to be kings cause they lost in a fight, and now when there's a king fighting in the coliseum showing off his fighting strength, but before you've even seen him do anything as a king yet besides have people that like him (like the other kings did too) he's suddenly your favorite king. Am I the only one who picked up on that? It's fine if you like him better but the explanation didn't seem to really be consistent with what you guys have said in the past about other kings.

Doffy specifically told him that he was not allowed to tell the citizens about him. I’m sure you could imagine what Doflamingo would’ve done if Riku didn’t listen. So that’s why. And I’m sure you’ll be thinking, “well he was already killing the citizens, you might as well just tell them at that point” but just wait until you see what Doflamingo is capable of, I’m sure you’ll change your mind

Well, doffy told him he has to come up with the money and prove how good of a king he is. If king riku outright said it was doffy’s doing, doffy can easily break his promise and just go for the kill. That’s the reason king riku didnt say anything to his citizens until everything is over. Also, parasite string is OP. Even jozu, whitebeard’s 3rd commander got controlled by that.
