I took that to mean against swordsmen. Given the context, it’s what makes sense. He was talking to Luffy about being the greatest swordsman because he felt the King of the pirates deserved no less than that. So i know it’s not blatantly stated based on the wording, but given the context, it leads you to believe he meant he’d never lose to another swordsman. Sword duels are the only fights that would actually matter when it comes to achieving his dream. So people aren’t necessarily making excuses, it’s just what makes sense when you really go back and factor in the context of the conversation.

Nah bro, zoro cant back up the “never losing again”. He lost to lucci the first time they met, then kuma 1v1, lost to kizaru and then the baboons still counts as an L. You have to remember zoro made that promise very early in the series. He said he will never lose, so an L is an L you cant be making exceptions.

Dressrosa starts getting slow moments like this. It's usually when they're stalling for time while they animate the crazier episodes. Thinking about that is the only thing that keeps me sane while going through these slow parts lol Someone else said it. It does get progressively better each arc. The next two speed up. Current One Piece has almost no slow moments
