She said the reason she didn't want to run away was because that would leave behind the Subaru she fell in love with, meaning she wanted him all along to stay and fight for Emilia. I get if you disagree but we all know that when you really like someone there's a part of you that can't be reasoned with. Someone being the obvious choice doesn't factor into the small things that you might love about someone else that only mean something to you.
