His race but not king himself. Still doesn’t change the fact that king is irrelevant and only existed to fight zoro. Like I said, his backstory is shallow and doesnt have build up and I understand oda doesn’t have the time to build it up therefore i said it’s not that great. King wasnt also that young when he met kaido, he was a teenager, and yes teenagers can be persuaded and influenced greatly but still that whole story between him and kaido was weird. Kaido even told him that he will let king decide for his own and he chose to trust a random man. Owing your savior is one thing but to trust him that early is another, it feels forced to me. When the same thing happened to zoro, zoro wasnt like that. It took time for zoro to give his loyalty to luffy to the point that his dreams don’t matter of luffy cant achieve his. But anyway, my real name is king. And no, when I was a kid, I didnt like my name king because i felt like i stood up too much lol.

You say he didn't bring anything to the story but he introduced the lunarians which are huge for the story. It's definitely gonna be tied into future arcs when we learn more about the celestial dragons history. His backstory for a villian who isn't the main antagonist of the arc was great and even better in the anime. He also clarified at the end of the episode that he's following kaido because he saved him from his torture. He said he doesn't really care what kind of world kaido is trying to create anymore as he will follow regardless due to him being his saviour. Kaido's explanation for why he named him king made him more trusting of kaido. He was a kid and it sounded like a good idea to him so he went along with it. Kids like the idea of themselves being called king. I mean, your username is literally king.

King even after the fight with zoro did little to nothing to the story and as an antagonist. He just existed to fight zoro, his backstory is also not that great, it was a copy paste of other vice captain backstory. The way he followed kaido was weird, he just met the guy and believed him right away. The fact that he let kaido not use his real name alber is also kinda stupid and he whole heartedly allowed it like why? King is just a cool design, but I don’t understand the hype behind him. Even queen is better as a villain than king, tho his design is trash and his fighting style. He also did his thing for kaido, as kaido’s scientist. Queen antagonize the alliance if he wasnt playful, he could have wiped out their enemies with his plague, so of course oda had to make a way to prevent that. King also, didnt even show and portrayed top tier haki feats so how is he winning against katakuri who portrayed a better haki than luffy?

2023-05-29 22:09:43 +0000 UTC@Keicod yea, they only adapt 12 pages per episode, and this past 2 episodes were just special occasions that they adapted more than 12. If they keep adapting more than 12 pages they will catch up pretty fast to the manga. Seasonal is the way to go IMO, id rather do it that way to preserve the quality of the anime and so we can have proper adaptation and top tier animation and pacing. Many arcs since post ts lost its quality due to its pacing and bad animation. It was hard to watch the anime.

2023-05-29 21:42:29 +0000 UTCFor the Supernovas, they where never meant to be important characters, the only one important was Kid, while everyone else was meant to retired(die) between the timeskip and post-timeskip, but Oda decided to give them relevancy, especially Law, Oda gave him half of the storyline that was meant to be for Kid.

When we met him at Sabaody, he was the only Supernova to get a solid hit on Kizaru, so I actually kinda liked him. His Devil Fruit is also pretty busted. Unfortunately, he never actually utilizes it much. He just trolls people, runs his mouth, and then darts away. That's all he does this arc lol.

The manga's not as far ahead as you'd like it to be, they would've already caught up and we'd be right back to the slow pacing, or worse have to skip a week every episode or be dumped with hella fillers. Honestly tho? Seasonal One Piece doesn't sound that bad.
