2023-07-07 05:43:34 +0000 UTCBy the way, "That place" is referring to the Grand Line. These SBS are from before the Straw Hats entered the Grand Line. In the East Blue Arcs, there are not many Devil Fruit users (Luffy, Buggy, Alvida, and Smoker), but once they enter the Grand Line, the amount of Devil Fruit users raises astronomically. It's probably something that's hard to think about now, because we've spent like 9000 episodes in the Grand Line already. So it's just normal now lol. But back then, it was still this super mystical place that we didn't know anything about.

2023-07-07 05:01:14 +0000 UTCI really only have a few things to mention. First, keep in mind that the Straw Hats entered the Grand Line in chapter 101, so this is early, early stuff. Volume 4 is in Syrup Village (Usopp recruitment arc), which is why Oda gave an age for Usopp (the question was probably sent before he appeared, but answered after he showed up) and not for Sanji (hadn't shown up yet). The other thing is the One Piece wiki/fandom does use different names than Crunchyroll and also Viz (the company in charge of the English version of the manga). In general, they aren't too hard to deal with as long as you remember who the characters are. Klahadore, Kurahadole, K-whatever, they're similar enough that if you remembered the butler, you'd know who they're talking about. You'll probably remember most characters, and the ones you don't have any idea about (like Mikio Itoo, who has no part in the story), you can click on their links and probably stay spoiler-free if you care that much. I wouldn't worry about it though, most of the Mikio Itoo-tier people only show up in the background of like a single panel and you wouldn't notice them if not for the question. I guess the only other thing is, like you saw a few times, the wiki does include illustrations if there's one for the question, so you're not missing out on anything by reading from the wiki instead of the manga. Most of them are just plain text.
