But then when he re-opened his eyes, it was more because he was surprsied by the shift in Choso. In the manga, they had an interrogation mark in Sukuna's speech bubble, like him questioning what's going on. And if you notice on the table in that false flashback, all the glass containers there contain the death womb paintings aka Choso's brothers who didn't survive being born (i can offer a refresher on Choso's lineage if you want because it was said in season 1, though they might quickly go over it this season)... Oh, and I also want to add that in the manga, Yuji gave Choso a basket of bread lol, not a forkful of spaghetti.
