WIP - Fossil

Some prompt breakdown and how I usually break down a word/theme/idea.
This time ‘Fossil’ is a bit tricky too. I was tempted to go toward a straight forward dinosaur route, or character that use a bone to animate dead creatures.
But then I saw human step by step evolution during my research process, and thought, “Hey, how about a transitional species instead?” Since ‘Dinosaur’ is already inside my mind, I immediately turn my attention to Dragon and the humanoid dragon, such as Dragonborn, Kobold, and Dragonewt. If Meganthropus, Phitecantropus, and other hominids ancestor exist, what about something in between dragon and those modern humanoid dragons?
So I decided to go with this. A transitional species that perhaps went extinct because they’re being outcompeted by other more intelligent species, or even by the dragon because they’re too similar to a dragon and still have to compete with them, unlike the other humanoid dragon species.
Anyway, that’s a bit of description of how I arrive at these sketches, please look forward to the finished artworks~
