Swordtember Day 09 - Primordial

Archaic Arcanist

This sword is one of the most significant discoveries of the millennia. Found accidentally after a massive earthquake opened up a giant fissure in the southern part of The White spine mountain range, this sword is the oldest man-made arcane-based magical weapon ever recorded, predating any known records and stories. It was found with several tools and similarly shaped materials, indicating that the cave was maybe some kind of workshop. The arcane runes engraved on it are very rudimentary, and the core catalyst is weak, but it is still functional, albeit just to make it as strong as steel. It’s still unknown who made it, what happened to them, and why there’s no record of arcane use during that era.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Arcane Flames. As a bonus action, you can attempt to cast the Produce Flame cantrip with the Archaic Arcanist, using its standard effects. Roll a d20; on a roll of 10 or higher, the spell is cast successfully. On a roll of 9 or lower, the spell fails, and the arcane energy dissipates harmlessly. When you cast it this way, use your spellcasting ability modifier (or Intelligence if you don't have one) for the spell attack rolls. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses after a long rest.

trying to catch up with the schedule again >___<

This one, I focused more on the lore. In the setting of The Archive that I wrote, before The Great Lahanagis Empire, before Lady of The Raven rewrote the rule of arcana, supposedly, mankind were unable to use arcane magic unless they have special lineage which is extremely rare. Most 'spellcaster' are those who have innate magical ability due to their lineage, blessed or make a contract with any deity to get a divine power. But for some reason, this sword exist, which hinted at maybe mankind can use arcane since the beginning of their creation. Maybe, it's not that they couldn't... but something prevented them to do so.
