Crafted in the aftermath of the First Chaos Insurgency, two unique crossbows emerged from the hands of a nameless hunter, later known as The Grey Ghost. The materials for these weapons were daringly stolen: the remains of a devil from a secret compound belonging to the remnants of the Children of One, and the remains of a celestial from an altar in one of The Golden Lord's temples.
For decades, mysterious killings plagued the eastern continent. Victims were invariably of either fiendish or celestial lineage. Eyewitness testimonies, though unable to identify the perpetrator, consistently mentioned a signature weapon: a crossbow wreathed in dark red flame or bathed in radiant light. Rumors circulated that The Grey Ghost was a war survivor, a victim of both the fiendish invasion into this realm and the radical actions of celestials and their followers in their fight against their enemies.
After a decade of targeting those loyal to their infernal or celestial ancestors, the two crossbows were found resting at the Rustlight Memorial Sanctum. This place, built by the Tierra Kingdom, serves as a memorial to those who perished during the First Chaos Insurgency.

While attuned to this crossbow, your attack against a fiend using this weapon is made with advantage.
Fiendish Harvest: Once per turn, when you slay a creature of size Small or larger, you can use your reaction to incinerate the creatures remains in a burst of hellfire, turning it into charred ashes. Doing so imbues the crossbow with the creature's life force, granting it 1d4+1 charges. The crossbow can hold a maximum of 20 charges.
Hellfire Bolt: When you make an attack with this weapon, you can choose to expend one charge to wreath the bolt in hellfire. On a hit, the bolt deals an additional 1d6 fire damage, and the target is engulfed in unquenchable hellfire. At the start of each of its turns, the target takes 1d4 fire damage. The target, or a creature within 5 feet of it, can use an action to try to extinguish all the flames by succeeding on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. The fire damage from this weapon ignores resistance and immunity to fire.
