Tectonic Tusk

Weapon (shortsword, longsword, or lance), very rare (requires attunement)

This seemingly plain sword, adorned with simple spiral engravings and forged by geomancers from Chamber Deep, is imbued with ancient runes carved meticulously into its hilt. The sword possesses the unique ability to manipulate and mold the surrounding earthly materials into an extension of its blade. This allows the wielder to seamlessly burrow through the earth, easily creating tunnels and pathways. While the sword's design and purpose are not for the master geomancers, who already command the very essence of the earth, it serves as an invaluable tool for their disciples, aiding them in their journey to mastery. However, wielding this sword is no simple task. Its transformative abilities significantly increase its weight, requiring a certain level of training and strength to harness its full potential effectively.

This shortsword has 3 charges and regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

Earthen Edge. As a bonus action, you can expend a charge to gather and infuse the Tectonic Tusk with earthly materials from your surroundings, either destroying the objects used for the material or creating a 10-foot cube of difficult terrain around you as you destroy the terrain around you. The sword gains the heavy property and a unique feature based on the material gathered:

• Dirt and Stone. The blade becomes rugged and jagged. Attacks with this weapon deal an additional 1d6 bludgeoning damage, and the target's speed is reduced by 10 feet until the end of their next turn.
• Sand. As an action, you can release the infused sand to create a sandstorm in a 15-foot cone in front of you. Each creature in the area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 1d6 slashing damage on a failed save and becoming blinded until the end of their next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and the Earthen Edge ends when all the sands are used.
• Mud. Once per turn, when you hit a target with this weapon, the target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be restrained until the end of their next turn.
• Metal. Once per turn, you can make the blade spin like a metal drill. Attacks with this weapon deal an additional 2d6 slashing damage. If the target is wearing metal armor, they must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the armor's AC is reduced by 1 until it is repaired. This effect can stack, but the armor cannot be reduced to less than 10 + the wearer's Dexterity modifier.

The Earthen Edge lasts for 1 minute or until you use this feature again.

Tunneler. While the Earthen Edge is active, you gain a burrow speed of 15 feet. As you move, you leave behind a tunnel roughly 5 feet in diameter that lasts for 10 minutes before collapsing.
