Swordtember Day 3 - Bless

Searing Sanctity

Weapon (longsword), very rare (requires attunement)

This exquisitely crafted sword is a sacred weapon wielded by the spiritualists and exorcists devoted to The Radiant Princess, a revered figure in the Western Continent. Known locally as the goddess of flame, purification, and penance, The Radiant Princess is an alternate incarnation of The Dawn Lord. In this region, she is worshiped as a beautiful woman or androgynous figure with hair of flame, riding atop a white flower.

Interestingly, both the sword's design and the depiction of The Radiant Princess closely resemble the legendary champion of The Dawn Lord, who was sent to the Western Continent during the First Chaos Insurgency to cleanse the land of the corruption left by the Outsiders. Imbued with the Blessing of The Sun, this sword has been adapted to reflect the unique worship practices of the Western Continent. Unlike the traditional Blessing of The Sun, which grants victory, courage, and the power to vanquish darkness, this version allows the sword to share its blessing with others, cleansing them of corruption and curses through its radiant flame.

—-------------------

While attuned to Searing Sanctity, you gain resistance to fire damage and have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned and effects that would cause you to become cursed. Additionally, Searing Sanctity deals an additional 1d8 radiant damage to undead, fiends, and aberrations

Blessing of The Sun. As a bonus action, you can cast the Bless spell without expending a spell slot or requiring material components. When you do, the creatures affected by the spell gain resistance to fire and radiant damage. Additionally, when a blessed creature hits with a weapon attack, their attack deals an additional 1d6 fire damage. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Purifying Flame: When you take the Attack action, you can forgo one of your attacks to touch a willing creature within 5 feet. The target takes fire damage equal to the sword's damage roll and is cleansed of one condition or curse affecting it, this damage can’t be reduced in any way. Conditions that can be removed include blinded, deafened, charmed, frightened, paralyzed, or poisoned, and a curse that can be removed by the Remove Curse spell. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

----------------------------------

I had trouble coming up with a design for the Bless prompt. I actually completed another design to its complete lineart before deciding to go with this one. The previous design (that you'll be able to see in the timelapse later) is a massive sword with an angelic statue on its blade. But it didn't click with me, so instead, I chose to make a more subtle and elegant design, and rather than some Western-style angel statue, I chose an Eastern Asia aesthetic, which I use as an inspiration for some civilizations in the Western continent in this setting.
