If you follow the beginning of this ep and all of bleach, Ichigo never had a sword from the zero squad, whereas every other Shinigami have. He also never had a Shikai release for his sword. To me, Ichigo is more like an Espada, where his fake bankai is like a ressurection of his hollow. Thats why his Getsuga is like a Cero.
