Late but. Emilia already stated back during the first reset, that she looks similar to the witch and it causes her lots of issues. So that's not a spoiler or anything.

I think it was Mother's Basement on youtube that had the best interpretation. Subaru looks at people as goals or objects as opposed to people. He has to learn to not do that. Things always go better when he does things either for himself or for others, with no ulterior motive. Each death breaks away part of the shut-in otaku nerd that thinks he deserves people/love/whatever as a reward.

I mean it's just a show, if people are getting that upset over not liking an anime they're already overreacting in the first place.

so basically, people are hating on a good show for no reason...

I think this show is "controversial" for two reasons: one because it's got harem vibes with a male lead and multiple females and that bothers some people but I think this show handles that pretty well, and two because of Subaru's choices in the show but I think it just comes down to how you can empathize with what he's going through. I think people that just brush of what happens to him and act like he should always be making perfect decisions will get bothered by choices he makes, but if you really consider how fucked up things are for him then I think this shows does a great job of showing someone experiencing severe trauma and what that does to them.

I would just say careful how much info you're giving out. When Subaru is told he is favored by the Witch he says he doesn't like that from someone who's name or face his doesn't know, so he isn't aware of the importance of that name. I agree on letting them know that Elsa isn't the Witch for clarity though

Fun fact: in the LN Rem tortures Subaru for quite a while, and any time he was close to dying she'd heal him and start again

subaru thought rem was the one that used the curse on him the first time he died in the mansion in his sleep. but seeing rem die the same way let him know that the shaman was targeting everyone in the mansion their is only one of them

That ending with the black screens still gives me chills, that scene on the cliff was terrifying. Such a good episode

Also, since you made the connection about Ram's magic, the reason why after Rem was torturing Subaru that she said her sister was too kind is because Ram mercy killed him to stop the torture. That was the life where he and Ram were really cool but he never even talked to Rem.

Elsa is the knife lady, Satella is the Witch. The witch is a silver haired half elf, which is why Emilia gets discriminated against.

There may be some confusion about the Witch. But it's not Elsa the knife lady.

For real I would've ask Beatrice to hit me with a instant death spell. Or pray that Rem takes a page from Thano's playbook and go for the head.

That took real courage for Subaru to take that leap of faith now knowing if he'll respawn after committing suicide. Just peering at that jagged rock formation at the bottom of the cliff would've made me loose resolve.
