This is not a spoiler. However, you will inevitably have to watch Hulk 2008 because it sets up two future movies in the MCU Phase 5. For some reason, many content creators skip the Incredible Hulk movie only to have to watch it, and it turns out they were not disappointed.

2025-07-29 04:39:39 +0000 UTCThis movie is still fun, but I think it’s pretty weak as far as MCU goes, especially everything from Phases 1-4(? Idk the phases, whichever one ends at Endgame). I didn’t necessarily dislike either villain, but feel like neither one were given enough purpose in the plot, or enough time to really be that compelling. Mickey Rourke was definitely making some acting choices, and apparently he had a big hand in fleshing out the character’s personality, and maybe even backstory/motivation, but the role didn’t survive the rewrites/reshoots intact. So we just get a weird russian guy. I actually kinda like Justin Hammer as a foil to Tony, cuz he’s like the version of Tony that never had the revelation to stop making weapons and try to be a force for good. But again, the movie doesn’t do enough with it, and they also chose to make him kind of inept and a bit of an idiot, so he never feels like a real threat. Tony’s personal struggle with the element poisoning and alcoholism were pretty good, and I also thought the dynamic between him, the government, and Rhodey was pretty interesting too. But I didn’t like how his poisoning problem was solved by him discovering a new element. It felt even more contrived than a National Treasure sequel, how his dad left clues to create a new element, which were apparently too complex for anyone to have even thought of in the past 50 years, but simple enough to be portrayed in a theme park map. And then Tony messes with test tubes and lasers for a few minutes in a montage and just makes it. I do still think the Monaco F1 fight is one of the cooler fight scenes in Marvel, as far as interesting set pieces go. The final battle is fun too, but again, Whiplash doesn’t feel like a good enough villain, so when they kill him with their repulsor high-five it’s not super satisfying or anything. Not a terrible movie, but not as good as Iron Man 1.

2025-07-12 06:02:45 +0000 UTCI won't lie, I'm really enjoying seeing Oscar do so well this year so in some ways I'm rooting for him and of course I want Ferrari to get their shit together so that Lewis can at least somewhat enjoy his time there (I do think retirement is approaching for him). Also since Max has been suffering so much with Red Bull this season, I'm really looking forward to the possible move next year and seeing how that transition might go for him and also his comeback. This year has been crazy though. You have an idea of what team will have at least 1 driver on podium each race but the other two spots could be anyone at this point with some of these races!
