Development state

This is a rather different post. This is not the a progress log for the update, this is more so a look at the state of the update, and a look at the remainder of the development of Hana's Exposure as a whole. I'm mainly making this post to clear some concerns.

Ever since February there had been an unfortunate IRL situation going on that had my mind in a not so great place which had slowed down development quite a bit. Fortunately that situation finally wrapped up around three weeks ago and I've been getting back into deving properly and building that momentum, so right now feels like a good time to make this post. 

The thing I want to talk about here is how there's been many decisions made throughout v0.6 that have greatly altered this update, and how the roadmap for the remainder of the development of the game as a whole has changed drastically because of those decisions.

As patrons know, I decided it would be a great idea to mess a few times with the scope of v0.6 and make a mess of this update (In a good way), similar to v0.5. For anyone out of the loop, there were two big changes made. The first change was to remove level 8 while still having it's contents explored. To do this it's contents have been pushed to levels 5 through 7 which has resulted in those 3 levels being bigger and juicier, but far more demanding in every aspect. The second change was to fill up most of the missing content all the way up to level 5. When it comes to this stuff, this update was supposed to only have a couple level up events and add a few of the missing events, not to fill in the majority of missing content. This second change lead me to decide to just leave the game content complete from level 0 to level 5 in the v0.6 update. 

The update was already pretty big with the new lewdness level and the new POI, but now after adding the leaving the game content complete up to level 5... yeah, that order became a lot longer. Needless to say this has added a lot of time to the development of the update. A lot of people surely dislike that change and I'm fine with that. This is what I feel is best for the overall development of the game, and something that will allow me to wrap up the game as a whole faster.

Another thing I also want to get across is that this will be the final content update until the finished product is out. After this update, v0.7 will focus on mechanics/technical stuff/fixes/QOL stuff. After that, the game will skip all the way to 1.0 for the final release with the remaining 2 lewdness levels, as the content that was supposed to make for the 0.8 and 0.9 updates has basically been squeezed into v0.6.

With that said, when will the update be out? No clue. It's not far off, but after adding the content complete thing to the update, there's a few things that need to be done (Mainly stuff regarding the sheer amount of CG stuff and sprites needed.) before I can start thinking about release dates.

I hope this post makes clear why v0.6 is taking a lot longer than expected, and why it's a good thing.

Again, this is not the progress log, that one will be out likely either this weekend, or the next one.

yes, no matter the situation, i think it bodes well when devs realize that altho a longer development means more time waiting for it overall results in a better game, and of course, you'd want the dev to be healthy, among other things, so I'm excited for 0.6 and what comes with that
