People Are Leaving Patreon
Added 2019-01-18 19:45:33 +0000 UTCSo I noticed half of my patreons have left patreon.com, since last month, due to the recently scandal--if you will--and I know some still want to support creators. This is a fairly big blow to me, as they were higher tier supporters, and that helped me out greatly.
I, myself, don't agree with what Patreon has done, but there are few options out there right now. I am looking into joining Subscribestar but my application is in a long line of others from when I submitted over a month ago. I could try Kofi, but they don't allow NSFW art. Another option is Pixiv Fanbox. I'm not sure if any of these would appeal to my supporters. So here is a question I propose: If I left Patreon, would you, my patreons, support me else where, or not?

Controversy? Them banning accounts, kicking people off the platform for them expressing themselves. (Controlling freedom of speech I guess?) Granted some of it was hateful, but on top of that they are cracking down and removing people who post NSFW content.
