Torchwood Season 1 - Episode 10

This is the 3rd and last episode for today. And what a great one it is. Such an enjoyable story. Funny and sad, and I really liked it :)

Torchwood Season 1 - Episode 10

Comments

Torchwood does emotions. When John goes to see his son in the nursing home - wow. We see the three people in different stages of their lives coping with the change in different ways - choosing to adapt, or fly away or ... The supermarket scene was a lot of fun. It's nice how Ianto is explaining about the automatic door when they get distracted by the bananas. The music on the radio is Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". At least it wasn't a spaceship full of aliens.

Interesting approach you made with this comment. :) The Suzy episode was my least favorite one, out of those 3. It was ok, but it didn´t click with me. But it wasn´t bad either. The story was pretty good, I guess that stupid glove thing in the beginning confused me so much, that I felt like missing stuff over the runtime of the whole episode. Maybe I would have liked it better, if I was there from the very start. :D I liked the random shoes episode ver ymuch. Like you said it felt like it was written for another show. That´s another description for the feeling I had while watching. The feeling of this beeing a very own episode in itself. (Does this sentence make any sense in english? In German it does) It felt so cozy and warm, like a bedtime story in some way. It took me with it, entertained me for a while and brought me back to earth. :) Like the shoes episode, this one felt like a little adventure, only this time the Torchwood characters were more involved, and also got some developement. Which I liked very much. :) The suicide scene was very sad, and having a character in that scene who is not able to die, makes it so strange in many ways. I really enjoyed this episode thought. :)

Yes, that is true. :) And I liked the episode, too :) To be honest the Gwen and Owen "realtionship" wasn´t communicated very well up to that point. Or maybe I just missed some hints. But I´m glad we finally closed that chapter. So now all I want is for Gwen to end her other relationship and I´ll be happy :) I´m really sorry for Owen, that he got hurt by that woman. One could really see that he was so in love with her. :/

I love this episode. Real character development for the team (except Ianto I suppose) and three guest star characters I can believe in. I think Owen and Gwen's relationship was a bit more than just sex but certainly not love or any kind of commitment. And Owen certainly wasn't in love with her like he is with Diane.

OK,I haven't watched these reactions yet - but I've unearthed some notes I took after watching them, several years ago; which I'll reproduce here (for all three of the stories which you've uploaded.) Suzy: I enjoyed this one rather a lot. The plot was twisty and well thought-through,and the suspense was ratched up quite remorselessly. No sexual innuendo (bar a few throwaway Jack-isms);good performances;some nice character writing. Suzie's hatred for her father was left unexplained (I was expecting at least a quick line);but the story had good tone and pacing. If only Torchwood could have been like this from the start! Random Shoes: A nice little change of pace,Random Shoes feels as though it was a script written for some other series, and re-written slightly (a possible alien connection) for Torchwood. The noticeable lack of a love life for the protagonist means that the episode was gratifyingly devoid of smut (although I'm sure that's merely a passing phase),and the feel of a Welsh equivalent of the movie 'Ghost' was rather endearing. A charming guest performance as well. Out of Time: This was a charming, leisurely paced little exploration of the 'fish out of water' scenario;clearly done as a budget saving exercise. The suicide scene was surprisingly moving; especially with Captain Jack in attendance - showing his immortality to be the curse he finds it to be. Once I'd realised that this episode had no plot,I ended up enjoying it rather a lot. Agree/disagree..?
