That´s so true. It´s a very interesting premise. Something that I have never seen on any show so far. It makes me so curious for future episodes :) Yes I really liked seeing Gwen and Rhys for example, because I really thought they were gone. But it feels so weird without the rest of our group. I miss them .... Oh so that´s the reason why it felt like an introduction to a new show, instead of just a new season. Thank you for the explanation. :)

Rex Matheson and Gwen, "Miracle Day - The New World" It's an interesting premise for the story to have the situation where nobody in the world dies. And that medical examination of suicide bomber was particularly gruesome. It's nice to see a familiar face or two in the episode because we've lost so many of our regular team. PC Andy is back and is as nice as ever, and we've seen Gwen's parent's before in "Something Borrowed" at the wedding. When Captain Jack pretends to be an FBI agent at the hospital he calls himself "Owen Harper" which is a nice mention. The series was also shown on a different channel in the US than the earlier series. I think one of the repercussions of the new US joint production to the story is that they have to balance the story telling in this episode between audiences who have seen the earlier series against the necessary character introductions of the team for the new US audience on that new channel. So we spend some time with Esther trying to research stuff that we already know. But that's cool because we get that sudden appearance of Captain Jack in the data archive.

But it makes sense now :) I understand Rhys and Gwen, but once again it shows, that they will never be happy as long as they are together, because they are way too different. I´m already looking forward to the rest of the season :)

2022-11-14 08:16:48 +0000 UTCThis series was unlike all the others because it was a joint production between the BBC and an American TV company. Which explains why there are so many American actors and so much of the episode was set in the USA. I do feel so sorry for Rhys who just wanted a quiet family life in the countryside. Not much chance of that. I will be interested to see what you make of it as the series progresses, but I won't say any more at this stage because it's far too early.
