Adoption: Your New, Doting Mummy

(The story takes place in an alternate-world fantasy Egypt. Link to submit ideas is at end of post~)

You are a scholar of ancient mystical systems, and much of your research is focused on uncovering the lost magicks of Egypt. 

In the middle of some work on magical rites, you discover and accidentally trigger a portal that leads to an underground pyramid. Strangely, you see a golden gleam and flickering lights ahead. That shouldn't be there, you think to yourself, nobody has lived here for centuries. Whatever it is could be dangerous, but curiosity gets the better of you, and you walk forwards...

That's how you find Nefertari, a doting, caring mummy. Nefertari is animated by the magicks of the gods, and after finding out that you will be staying in Egypt for some years, offers to take you in. In life, she used to be a healer priestess, and though she helped deliver many newborns, she never had children of her own. 

Three months after your first meeting, you agree to be adopted by Nefertari, as your biological mother had, some years ago, disowned you for "being a difficult child who meddles with the arcane arts." You now live in Nefertari's underground pyramid, which hums with magick, and is filled with small mounds of shifting golden sands. There is a healing stream that runs through this pyramid, as well as beautiful braziers, papyrus manuscripts, healing tools and instruments, and jars of preserved items. 

It is a wonderful, peaceful place for writing up your research, and on a nightly basis, Nefertari offers you supper, tea, a sleeping ritual, and a soothing prayer. When you are tucked neatly into your pile of linen blankets on your reed mat, she takes out various items and instruments to help guide you into dreamland...

+ Items and/or instruments she uses to guide you to sleep, and how she uses them (at least one item)

+ Ambient sound and sound effects

+ Anything else you think would go well with this audio story, including additional character and plot details!
