*Note I try to keep the process pics to 10 images each post since Substar doesn't allow more than that, in this case each piece I did has a couple of process shots instead of focusing on just one! :)
So this time I tried doing one study in just black and white and I really did not vibe with it. Not sure if it's maybe my brush or perhaps the lighting wasn't strong enough because painting in black and white felt super boooring!
I think this study was really beneficial for me, in December's redraw I made I found that I was struggling with the legs a little and where light and shadow would be hitting. Making my own reference pictures was really fun and I think was much more efficient than browsing for them like I might usually do.
When making the references I tried to do interesting angles, I find that usually the front of the leg is something I have seen lots but the back I think was still quite a mystery to me! Same with the side view.
Anyway I think that it would be great to get into making more reference photos and I will definitely be thinking about even selling them or making free packs for other artists!
One of the benefits of drawing mainly women is that I too am a woman π I am a free reference for myself!
