With regard to the Dark Forest Rule, I have something that might be of interest - some of the lore from _Destiny_ , specifically the "Books of Sorrow" from the Taken King: <a href="http://planetdestiny.com/taken-king-grimoire/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://planetdestiny.com/taken-king-grimoire/</a> (scroll right down to the bottom, expand the last segment) Which are the history/scripture of a species that takes this particular worldview to its logical extreme. (Well, in their case, they have some god-worms working for a very nasty cosmic force pushing it on them, but the end result is much the same.) It is a chamber of quite astonishing horrors.
