2019-06-29 00:57:28 +0000 UTCThe Storable vs. Cryogenic article reminds me of movie 2010: The Year We Make Contact, the good old Discovery One still had sufficient propellant to make it out of Jupiter's orbit and head back to Earth. I'd love to know how the propellant, if I remember correctly, liquid hydrogen, didn't all boil off in the 9 years Discovery was abandoned in Jovian orbit? Sure, it out at Jupiter, but if there was refrigeration, it was turned off long ago. And the Discovery was covered in sulfur, darkening it, so it would soak up more solar radiation. Would it be enough to boil off the LH?
