As Christmas and Hannukah approach, I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your support. Not just monetarily, either. 2019 has been a weird year, with its fair share of stressors. I have occasionally let this Patreon project fall by the wayside, largely because of the strain of my "real job" at the University. (Taking on seven classes seemed like a great idea at the time, and it certainly helped out with a lot of unexpected domestic expenses, but it just about killed me.) But even when I asked you point-blank to unsubscribe or lower your pledges, you didn't. So thank you.
It is beginning to look as if my ban from Twitter is permanent. There has been no response to my appeals, and everything I have read on the subject seems to indicate that unless you are a high-profile blue checkmark power-user, once someone in the office decides to flip your switch, they never look at you again. So guess what? You guys are my social network now. I will try to remain more focused and less unstable than I did on Twitter, since you are actually paying for this "content."
In any case, as I move forward on my doctoral dissertation (at long last), I may have to skip a few films here and there -- either not seeing them at all, or forgo writing them up in this space. But I will try my best to continue to make this an interesting webspace worthy of your time, attention, and small change.
