I have a soft spot for it because I saw it when I was fifteen, and it's very much a film that will make an impression on a fifteen-year-old- cishet boy. That said, a recent rewatch was less than inspiring. The pacing lurches and stumbles; all the leads seem to be acting in tonally different films, like there was never a meeting on how serious this was meant to be played; and overall it's so stupid, I mean just incredibly dumb. But it still delivers some well-polished exploitation goods. It's not FORBIDDEN WORLD, but it's not a bad way to kill time. The sequel, on the other hand, is terrific - swift and gloriously nasty trash.
