Patreon have wrote to all creators to inform them that Apple are enforcing a 30% fee on all NEW MEMBERSHIPS purchased through their APP from the start of November.
I want to be very clear now: Any current member who has a paid membership through the app or the website will not be subject to this fee!!
So every paid member right now will not be affected by this!
Your current membership fee of $37 for Tier 1, $49.99 for Tier 2 or $500 for the Executive Lounge will not change if you are a paid member before the 1st of November.
So any member who cancels before the 1st of November and signs back up AFTER the 1st of November through the Patreon IOS App, will be subject to this 30% increase, the way around this would be to just pay through the website (not the App) and use a web browser to access this site and not the App and you will not have to pay the Apple App Fee of 30% each month.
- A reminder that signing up to the Yearly Subscription for Tier 1 will give you a 15% discount, which is $33 a month for 12 months and you will not need to be concerned with missing a payment, if you do miss a payment, you will need to sign up again and could be subject to the 30% fee if you pay through the App store.

Apple’s requirements
As we first announced last year, Apple is requiring that Patreon use their in-app purchasing system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon iOS app by November 2024.
This has two major consequences for creators:
Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop.
Any creator currently on first-of-the-month or per-creation billing plans will have to switch over to subscription billing to continue earning in the iOS app, because that’s the only billing type Apple’s in-app purchase system supports.
Before we go any further, we want to be crystal clear about one thing: Apple’s fee will not impact your existing members. It will only affect new memberships purchased in the iOS app from November onward.

Glad that I didn’t cancel the monthly trying to take my spot but.. yearly I would have lost the Tier 2. Actually I want yearly tier 2.. and chane it before 1st November 😣

2024-10-31 16:34:38 +0000 UTCThis appears to be a glitch….the max allowed in Tier 2 is 200 and it’s showing 204 right now, until some payments are settled….for now it’s not possible while there is 204 in this group Yearly membership should be available for Tier 1

2024-10-31 13:02:40 +0000 UTCjust so I understand correctly, if you are grandfathered in (signed up by 11:59pm tonight), and you cancel after Nov 1, you can still get back in at the $37 price for tier 1 without being subjected to the 30% price increase via the app at a later date? or did I misinterpret that?
