Backyard Self Portraits
Added 2020-10-07 04:06:54 +0000 UTC100% have not been feeling it for a minute. I wanted these images to really kinda show how I'm facing life right now.
While editing these I had the thought of how heavily a lot of folks edit their digital images, especially portraits verses how little editing is done of older film portraits. I really admire (and maybe that's why I'm so drawn to film) the authenticity of film. With this set I retouched the image at the bare minimum. Doing nothing more than correct exposure and adjust the highlights.
I'm also sort of reflecting on how almost conditioned I feel to shoot and edit to the point of super perfection, almost unrealistic, funkiness. Like it's cool to have a loose thread or some acne spots, a stray hair here and there.
