Winding Mountain Path

Welcome back! This week I've got a multi-tiered mountain path for you. I think I would pit my players against giant goats here if they were low level, or maybe something that take advantage of the terrain, like creatures that fly or use ranged attacks. Perhaps a griffon or 2 have made their roost on the path, and travelers need someone to scare it off?

This week I felt like trying out a few things, new brushes and styles that I've had in mind (I talk about it a bit more in the adept post). I really like how it came out, but I would love to hear what you think! Should I stick with it, or would you rather I continue with my previous style?

Adepts can find their post here!

FYI I just put this one in Roll20 and it goes 17x14 :)

This is beautiful! Probably my favorite map so far.

Beautiful! I love all of the details.

I say if you like working in this current style I'd stick with it and keep improving on it! I know I like it. Haven't been disappointed with a release yet.

What impresses me most about this is the shadowing and subtle texturing on the rock. It does look a lot better in the daylight for that reason. Your style is similar to 2MT and that's not necessarily a bad thing, I like that I can transition between your maps without the immersion breaking "Woah this one is really high res now. Oh this one is entirely linework. This one has insane amounts of set dressing." To me what differentiates you from 2Mt, and Dungeon Mapster is your ideas. I feel like they make maps I can pick up and drop virtually anywhere, which is great. Yous are more like distinctive set pieces, which is a different kind of great.

Very pretty map. I'm happy I signed up! Thanks for the cool work.

Thanks, that's good to hear!

You have been delivering some of the BEST looking maps in my collection. And I'd argue that this style brings you closer in line with what WotC is doing, since the linework is a lot more detailed like a Schley map, but with the color palette/shading of a 2minutetabletop map. It also doesn't help that a lot of 2minutes' early maps were mountainous like this one. That said, I would personally love more in this style or your previous style. Your maps excite me as a DM and always get an excited comment from a couple of my players.

Yeah, I agree. As I finished it I thought it would probably be too similar to 2MinuteTabletop's style for me to keep making maps like it, but I sure do think it looks nice (which is a point in 2MT's favor)

I do like this style and it melds well with many of 2MinuteTabletop's maps. I personally like this style but it may lump you in closer with other artists.
