Forest Stream, Revisited

Welcome back, Adepts and Experts, for another installment of my Revisited series! Once a month I go back to an old map and change it up, usually by altering it to give it a new theme. This time however, I went back and updated one of my older maps, Forest Stream (24x27), giving it my current verdant color palette and tying it together with the rest of my Forest series of maps. Other than altering the colors, I touched up the shadows, lighting, and a number of other effects to help it mesh better with my more recent maps, though with minimal altering of the original outlines.

I know this isn't what I typically do for my Revisited posts, usually they feature more drastic changes, but if you're interested in this kind of post too let me know in the comments! Otherwise, I plan on revising this one again this month in a way that fits the theme of these posts, so don't think this will necessarily be the norm!

Forest Stream, Revisited

Comments

I like the revisited version quite a lot. Feels more vivid than the previous one and also more realistic with the sand near the water instead of just grass. Loving it :)

Agree, came here to say the same. Other than that I like that it match the other forest maps.

The Crafty Dice

I love that you are taking time to go back and make the maps uniform, but I find the new map hard to tell the difference between the sand and the grass apart. If I had not already used the old one in a campaign of mine and was familiar with it I might have not known that the ground type changed. Thanks for all your work!

I actually really like the revisit, having all the maps in an area share the same tone and feel adds a nice bit of immersion for running multiple encounters there.
