A Conversation With Wim Hof !

Hello creatures! 

This is a really special thing we have to share here.  As you know we have been doing an exclusive audio podcast here where we discuss our lives and various band histories.  We started to include some guests starting with our friend and producer Brian Mcternan back in May. 

The expansion now continues into a video format where we have a conversation with someone who inspires us in one way or another and we try to share & pass on that inspiration to all of you. We will of course continue to do at least one audio only/band only version of Creature Cast where we discuss Circa centric things and a whole lot of bullshitting but we hope to bring these guests on video style conversations to you regularly as well. Let us know your thoughts. 

The first of this series is none other than The Iceman himself, Wim Hof! Some of you will undoubtedly already know of Wim but for those who are not, it's a total honor to boost his signal to you. We have been fans and a few of us, practicers of Wim's work for some years now.  Anthony introduced me to Wim's unique and famous therapeutic breathwork back in 2016 or so and we began to use the method before shows. 

If you are not familiar with it, one of the Wim Hof methods involves concentrated periods of quick, deep inhaling and exhaling as well as rhythmic holding of the breath for extended periods of time.  Other facets of Wim's methods are working with nature & exposure to cold weather/water. 

I won't continue to explain as it would do a disservice to both you and Wim LOL but if you'd like to understand more, download his free app HERE and watch his videos on youtube HERE. (This is free mini-class a good place to start!) It should be noted that none of us are medical professionals and that you should always do your own research when doing any type of activity of this kind. Wim's website has all types of safety protocols and suggestions listed. 

For the relatively short amount of time I have spent with Wim's breathwork, I experience an increase in mental clarity & physical stress endurance, a decrease in anxiety/depression as well as a noticeable increase in positive autoimmune response. It's been a profoundly helpful addition to my selfcare toolkit right along with meditation, exercise, talk therapy and medicinal plants.

It was such an honor for me to be able to talk to him after spending so long studying his method and following his practices. I would definitely say he's had such a positive effect on my life and I'm so happy to be able to share his message. 

As you will see we basically just ask a few questions here and there and Wim's passion takes over from there.  This guy radiates life affirming love energy and we were all vibrating with it by the end of the chat.  We hope you dig it! PS Steve couldn't make it this day, in general while the audio only version of the pod will be all 5 of us, these video/guest episodes will be fluid and range in participation from 1-5 of us depending on the scenario.
