'Grudge' Demo (Original Idea for Strange Terrain)

I have been digging through old emails trying to find some of the original song ideas that we would send back and forth to work on. I stumbled on an email chain from Colin titled "grudge". It contained an mp3 for an instrumental he had made and a message from Colin saying "if we jam on this and anthony sang on it it probably wouldn't sound so much like 'Breaking the girl' ha". We were right in the middle of the writing period for Blue Sky Noise, and I remember feeling very excited about the vibe of this instrumental. It felt like a Huge piece of the puzzle that we were looking for to push the record forward, and I was really anxious to hear what kind of vocals Anthony was going to come up with for it.

The next day Anthony sent back this mp3 with some vocals he recorded on top of the instrumental. The email was titled "signs-grugde" (yes that is a classic AG typo right there hahah). I immediately knew that this song was going to be on the album, it was just a matter of us getting together and working on it as a band. There is a bit of a different vibe to this demo compared to the album version that I think is really cool. And it does this classic Circa thing to my brain where it's hard to establish where the downbeat of the song is supposed to be at first. So you start bobbing your head to what you think is the beat, then something else kicks in and you realize you had it wrong the whole time. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!
