I knew from the start what I wanted the first girl to wear and how her hair looked. A small pink dress and long black hair. I also saved that for the third page to keep the sequence a bit fresh. You wonder what the first girl looks like in her entirety underneath the worm skin.
The hand holding adds some romantic human element instead of just tentacle monsterness.
