I wanted to draw some spit-like mucus on the tentacles but nothing looked good against the background of the blue sky. Clear/white was my first choice but the sky was too beight and I wanted it to stay that way. Orange contrasts best with blue but making the mucus orange would look like runny diarrhea.
The hair color and bikini color are inspired by Clover from Totally Spies.
