Buried a treasure box in our guest room / Thank you, our patrons!

Although we didn't find any buried treasures on the farm... yet, we decided to bury a treasure box ourselves in the guest room, before we pour the concrete slab in the upcoming weeks.

We added a 'Thank You' letter with all your names, because your support helps a lot to make this project a reality and your kind words give us so much confidence and energy to continue.

Now we are all OFFICIALLY a part of the history of this 1908 farm :-)  Congrats!  I hope you enjoy this short episode as I did while editing it!

P.S.: Our GoPro started to act up and recorded almost everything without sound that day :-( Unfortunately I had to edit out almost all our talks, but still wanted to share this short video with you. In our regular video today we will do a voice over and share what else we have put in the box.

Hi, Grumpy Granny :-) thank you very much for your kind words! Wow, 5 properties, that's huge. and lot of experience. It's a bit of chaos in my house right now (+5 more people and 3 more arriving this week), but once our routine is established, we will continue renovating the house. Many hugs, Marina

Hello, enjoy seeing the miracles you are making happen on this poor old neglected farm. I love farms. I was raised on a small farm, 125 acres. We had Herford cattle, Yorkshire pigs, horses, chickens. We grew corn, wheat, oats, and hay. There was a large garden too! I am 75 in May and I miss that way of life and enjoy watching you rescue this sow's ear! But I am sure it will become a silk purse when you have finished to phase an old-time saying. Lol! I have redone 5 properties in my time and understand the work that goes into your project. I can almost feel the effort you use to accomplish every task. At times I wish I could come and help you....lol! Anyway please know I am with you every step of your journey and send prayers for you and your family and countrymen and women. God be with you and protect you and the ones you love. Sending big hugs to you both. Warmest regards, Grumpy Granny (Linda Kay Sayles-Chaney)

Thank you very much, Loretta! We are so pleased to read your kind words. P.S.: bellow your own comment, there should be a pencil icon. If you click on it, it is possible to edit the text once again. I use it very often, because thoughts are often faster then my writing and I do a bunch of mistakes :-)

I obviously don’t know how to place a comment here, I got cut off. I’m not much of a writer. Just know that you make this old woman’s heart sing with joy.

I am so happy watching your dedication to this restoration. I was a workaholic like you two when I was young but never could I imagine any one couple taking on such a massive project.

Thank you! We have multiple candidates, that could win the prize 'the most stupid job we've ever done' :-) Definitely digging again is among them... It's even worth than just a small hole 😀

Marina P.

Lovely idea , whoever finds that box will be thrilled . I felt bad for Illia having to dig in that floor AGAIN ! 😀

Jean Godding

That's crazy, right, Nick? Feels like we are talking to someone from the future. What would they think? What would they do?

Marina P.

You are very welcome, David. It was such a pleasure to write it to you :-)

Marina P.

Excellent. So loved the holiday greeting I received in the mail. Caught me by surprise and very appreciated.

David Packwood

Thank you, that is so sweet!

This is great! My wife and I were discussing the farm over breakfast and I'm excited that my name is in your treasure box. I should be long dead when the box is discovered sometime in the next century, we all will be! Keep up the good work and the (addictive) interesting videos of your journey.
