Dear patrons, a long-awaited update. As you might know from our earlier video on YT we decided to move into a caravan. It will allow us not only to save time and money but later, when we'll move into our renovated house, to value the possibility of having one room for each family member and 2 bathrooms more :-)
In this post we would like to share with you some pictures, the story of finding the caravan and how much it will cost us. I'll try to keep it sweet and short, I promise.
I still can't believe in our luck: we found it very quickly and for a very reasonable price (the unreasonable comes later). We were very relaxed while browsing through all the ads because we still had lots of time ahead of us. Our first appointment to tour the caravan was a disaster, the seller didn't show up and didn't even bother to call us. So I decided to look for another one and tried to get an appointment immediately. And here the luck was kind to us. The lady just posted an ad on FB and the first buyer couldn't make it to the agreed time and cancelled the tour, so she invited us instead.
We immediately saw the great price/quality value. The caravan is old and needs some love, but the family was living in it during their renovation and also during winter (important fact!). We don't have to worry about not working facilities, mold, insulation... They renovated all the important things: the pipes, wiring, installed new boiler etc.
They were asking 2600 euro for it and it was below the market price, because they wanted to sell it quickly. So 2600 euro for caravan and...
and now to the unreasonable. How much do you think you pay to transport the 3,5m x 12m caravan (30 minutes drive from one place to another)? I thought 500 euro, Illia doubled the amount. But in reality, after getting 3 offers from 3 different companies, the amount will be between 2200 and 2800 euro. We will pay, no other options are available, but man.... isn't that crazy?
In overall it's a great deal and I can't wait to to see it standing on our backyard. We plan to move in in April/May, so we will have enough time to renovate it and Illia will have enough time to get used to the height of the ceilings 😀 We also plan to renovate one of the outbuildings and turn it into 2 additional bedrooms, but we will share more about our plans in the upcoming videos.
We'll get it delivered on the 12th December, so fingers crossed I'll be able to post here some pics of the caravan standing on our land on that day 🙊
