This was a motion blur test. For the bottom right corner panel, I say it was an incredible success! I've tried to replicate motion blur with a lot of manual techniques such as streaking or trying to recreate realistic motion blur by studying photographs, but nothing was as easy, fast or good looking as Gimp's motion blur effects! I'm still getting used to it as you can see from the top panel but I'm extremely happy with the bottom right. I wanted to use it on page 6 of Unwilling Oviposition 1 first for continuity and just because there was a lot of enhancement that could be done to page 6. I added the cushion to the stool, a ground-pound effect in the first panel to show she hit the ground (so that it's not just another angle of the panel in page 5) and I added shadows of the parasite casting over her face in the last 2 panels.
It takes a few extra steps to make this happen but I think it's worth it :) There are a few different kinds of motion blur tools like radial, linear and zoom. For the top panel I used linear but I think it needed zoom, I'm not sure. The zoom has some funky controls. For the bottom right I used radial with the parasite is traveling in an arc. It's a pretty fun and cool effect to use.
