Around the time I made this I was also looking at short documentaries about hermit crabs. That's probably what inspired me; a crab-like creature that does not fully emerge from its home. Instead of being confined to its home, it takes its home wherever it goes. I always wondered what the other half of a hermit crab looks like, and I think other people do because this video of a hermit crab in a glass shell is very popular:

Tapping into these inherent curiosities and incorporating them into possession pieces enhances them.
Her grabbing the bug leg (specifically in panel 3) also taps into many people's fear of touching bugs. Bugs sometimes make me yell out loud :9 This fear can be transformed into excitement which can be transformed into arousal. She doesn't want to touch it, but if she doesn't it might cause her more embarrassment and unexpected sensations. This strong dilemma may also be another deep human thought being tickled from a comic like this.
