I love transparent worms when they show whats going on inside them or behind them. Too often when Im drawing worms or tentacles I have to figure out a way for them to not block the view. This is a unique hair-pull in that the worm is inhaling for a suctioning effect. I believe this is the second time I drew a hair-pull (both times by the ponytail.). I dont imagine it to be very harsh or violent, more like a curious tug as an intelligent curious animals sometimes do.
If you look closely in the second panel the worms lips are puckered and getting wider than the rest of its body. This partly how flexible and squishy it is.
