I feel sorry for the King, as I do all the good people in this world. I believe he made the right choice. His enemy (the Empire) says that this random guy you don't know and have only heard a single story of, is entitled to your land. Is like the school bully using a mass murderer (and Ainz-sama is one) to steal your lunch money. On one hand, your friend met (not knows, remember he said Ainz was benevolent), this person once, and no proof has been offered of anything.
Yea, Death Knights for days, was absolutely a message to the Empire.

Funfacts about Overlord that is not related to the upcoming episodes (most of these were skipped)
1. Did you know that there was one ending for a character that was confirmed in this series? That character is Momon. It is confirmed that after 30 years of what is happening in this series, Momon is confirmed to have "retired". Now, whether this means that Ainz got killed, or that he just stopped posing as Momon as he sees no benefit from this anymore, or that he got pulled back to his own world, its up for a debate. This is backed up by one of the nobles infatuated with Nabe. If you wanted to read it, go look for it in the LN or drama CD but basically, the gist of what happened is this:
The noble needed to kill a demihuman in order to be the head of his household. This is because he may experience needing to kill a person while still in power so its good that he has some experience on the matter. Their target is a goblin, any goblin will do. This is an easy task for most adventurers so hiring Darkness is a bit overkill but the noble is infatuated with Nabe so they went with it. Ainz guided them to a known location where tribes of goblins live but as soon as they arrived in the area, a basilisk is attacking that goblin village. (this is the green lizard that Ainz one shotted in the beginning of S2. Gagaran has some insights on this beast as well) The noble wanted to flee because he recognized that it is a basilisk but Momon fought it. In his mind, the fight was so good that he thought that the fight will go down in history. 30 years later, that noble is telling his grandchildren about how mighty Momon is but also said that Momon is now "retired"
2. Did you know that even if Ainz becomes a normal human, Nabe will still look at him and treat him with utmost respect? This is backed up by the same story above. The noble asked Nabe a lot of questions. In the end, he asks something along the lines of "If Momon was just a normal weak human like me, would you still look at him?" and Nabe said that she and the "others" will look at him the same way.
3. Ainzach (the leader of the adventurers guild) believes that Momon is a warrior who is too valuable for his city to lose. He even considers using shady methods, such as making prostitutes take unusual drugs that are meant to increase their fertility, so that they can somehow bear Momon's offspring in hopes that the child would be as talented as the biological father. Theo, who is a friend of him said that methods are too shady and has too low of a success rate anyway but still went along with it (this is due to the fact that they also thought that Momon and Nabe are banging. No, really)
4. Speaking of Momon and Nabe banging, a lot and I mean a lot of people thought that they were. This misunderstanding goes even further beyond during the invaders arc. Momon and Nabe's camp is much further than the camp of both workers and adventurers because all of them instictively just agreed that they are indeed banging and they dont want to walk in the middle of it.
5. The people of E-Rantel have a lot of theories on where Momon originated from. Some say that he is a noble on some far away land, some say that he is a secret weapon of a country far away. Ainzach's theory is that Momon is king of a land that got destroyed by vampires. He also thought that Nabe was one of the nobles that Momon saved. This is because of what Momon said back in S1 where he said that he is tracking Honyo (Shalltear) for a long time and has a history with her. He also thinks that he is a king or at least a high noble because of how he carries himself. He describes it as "having a different aura than most common men" and the fact that he carries really expensive weapons. Funnily enough, he gets the same feeling when talking to Ainz.
6. Mare is extremely lazy and unless Ainz himself commands him to do something, he will take the least amount of work possible and quickly finish the job. He likes reading and napping. Despite his appearance, he was actually one of the first NPCs created. This resulted in Bukubukuchagama going nuts and using a lot of guild points to increase Mare's stat cap to the point that he is physically stronger than Albedo, Cocytus and Sebas despite the fact that he is a magic caster. He's also the one who pulled Albedo out of Ainz when she attempted to rape him.
7. Aside from Peroroncino, Yamaiko is the only one in the guild to have heared of Bukubukuchagama's real voice.
8. Cocytus guards the 5th floor. His entire floor is suppose to be snowing but Ainz turned off that feature because the repair cost is too high.
9. Tuare was implied to be pregnant when Sebas bought her to Solution. Solution needed to eat the baby in order to save her as Sebas's order. Tuare also doesnt know that she was pregnant.
10. Albedo has a lot of copies of the same attire but each copy of those clothes has a different lingerie attached to it. Shalltear however has a crapton of different clothes provided to her by Peroroncino who joins hard events just to have rare female clothing as a prize.
11. The demon attack on Re Eztise Kingdom didnt cost Nazarick any monsters at all. All the monsters that were present and got killed were summoned by Demiurge's generals.
12. Bellriver is the first supreme being to have died IRL. Apparently, he learned a really big secret on a company and that got him killed. It is highly speculated that this "big secret" was passed on Ulbert. Sometime later, Ulbert met with Touch Me who actually happens to be a policeman IRL.
This upcoming words is just a theory of many (still a theory regardless) but it is highly theorized that the one who killed Bellriver or at least hushed up the investigation is Touch Me given by the fact that the world they live in is so corrupt. If this is true, then this might be the reason why he is big on justice ingame, because he cant have that IRL. It also begs the question, what happened to Ulbert after that.
13. Ainz's real world is fucked up. WW3 happened, a lot of the good food costs a ton of money, the air outside their houses is so poisonous that they needed gas mask to go out and some of their body parts were replaced by machines. They couldnt even fucking see the sun, moon and stars anymore and the only way to see them is by playing fantasy games. Since the sun isnt present, all the plants that should've been absorbing carbon dioxide all died. Eversince the big coorporations took over, the quality of education is so low that being able to graduate from elementary is their definition of success.
Ainz's father died from overwork and his mother died before finishing making his favorite meal. If Ainz was made into another race other than a skeleton, I bet he would splurge a little on Nazarick's top quality foods. Ainz and Ulbert are both in the same situation since both of his parents died as well. Ulbert's parents were never even buried underground because he is so busy working. If Ulbert doesnt show up to work for one day, they will fire him. Getting fired from their world is a literal death sentence and nobody wants that so they bend down and accept being treated like trash. People who are fulfilled in their life like Touch Me who has wealth, a beautiful wife and kids is actually a rarity in their world.
It got so bad that a lot of people living in their world including Ainz pretty much denied the reality that they are in and instead made whatever fantasy games that they're playing as their "new reality". He treasures the people that he meets to escape his shitty world. This is why Ainz thinks of Nazarick highly beyond any logical reason and would do anything for it. To him, this is his home, his own version of "reality". This is also the reason why Ulbert is so obsessed of being a devil, because this is how he sees the world he is living right now, full of corruption and injustice.
You know whats even worse? The game YGGDRASSIL got closed down because it gave people too much hope.

Here's a few interesting tidbits from the LN.
Marquis Raeven's background:
"When Marquis Raeven had been a younger man, his heart brimmed with the ambition and drive that was the hallmark of youth. And the target of his ambition was the throne. Aspiring to the throne was a treasonous dream. The young Marquis Raeven, filled with confidence in his abilities, probably felt that he had no other goal that was worthy of being his lifelong objective. Toward that end, he had worked quietly, expanded his influence, accumulated wealth, expanded his connections, crushed his political enemies.
Taking a wife was nothing more than a part of his plan. As long as he could sell off the position of marchioness at a high price, he did not care what kind of woman he ended up with. As it turned out she was a beautiful, yet gloomy woman, but Raeven did not mind. After all, the important thing was the connections he made with his wife’s family. Their home life was ordinary. No, that was just how Raeven felt it was. He cared for the woman he married as a tool, but there was no love between them. As fate would have it, it was a tiny thing indeed that changed Raeven.
The first thing he thought when he learned he had a son was that he had another tool to use. However, as the newborn boy clutched his finger with his tiny hands, something broke inside Marquis Raeven. This was his soft, squishy son, who seemed as much a monkey as a human being. He certainly did not think that he was adorable. Yet, when he felt the warmth that radiated from his finger, everything else suddenly seemed silly. The throne felt like garbage to him. The man driven by ambition had passed away at some point.
Then, when Raeven smiled in thanks to his wife that had just given birth to his son, he vividly remembered the expression on her face. It was a funny one, even if he would never say that out loud. He remembered that it seemed to ask, “Who is this person?” Of course, his wife had thought that this was just a temporary change caused by learning that he had an heir. However, Raeven continued changing after this, and it made his wife wonder if there was something wrong with him. In the end, when his wife considered her husband before and after his change, she came to the conclusion that she preferred the new Raeven, and her attitude shifted as well. The two of them were, at long last, a normal married couple."
The Slaine Theocracy's reaction to Ainz's claim to E-Rantel:
"E-Rantel and its surroundings was the meeting point of three nations. Every time the Kingdom and the Empire had their little wars, the Theocracy would make its opinion known. “To begin with,” they would say, “E-Rantel and its surroundings originally belonged to the Slaine Theocracy. The Kingdom has taken control of it unlawfully and they are obliged to return it to its rightful owners. It is deeply regretful that such improperly appropriated territory should become the object of a power struggle,” and so on.
When they heard this, both countries wanted to tell them to stop cutting in from the side, but to date the Theocracy had never mobilized their troops, so they believed that their disagreement was purely verbal. This time, however, the tone they had taken was very different.
“The Theocracy has no records of him and cannot make a ruling on the matter, but if this land rightfully belongs to AInz Ooal Gown, then we will acknowledge the legitimacy of his claim.”
That was what their communique had said. The nobles of the Kingdom were furious at this statement, which sounded like the Theocracy was spouting utter rubbish out of nowhere. However, there were those who understood the true meaning behind the document. The Slaine Theocracy was saying, “We have no intention of antagonizing Ainz Ooal Gown” on a national level. That implied that the Slaine Theocracy, the strongest nation in the region, was not willing to risk a confrontation with a single magic caster."

A few points I'm sure others will cover in more detail later so I'll let them type it out. His army in the LN was better it has plenty of deathknights but there was also other monsters. The most famous of them being the soul eaters these skeleton horse monsters that will get more screentime if they make a season 5. (All of these points should just say you really need to read the LN. The show I'll give 7/10 [with 5 being a good show that I'd recommend and 10 being a life changing experience] the books I'd give a 8.5.) I'll also so while the army is fantastic with each member being something of insane power for that world. People skip over an important part of that scene. When speaking with the general (I believe his name was Carvain but I may be wrong it's been awhile) he says the Emperor has asked him to use his magic to start the battle. Anytime Ainz gets screentime to do something is gonna be hype. Since that was said in episode it isnt a spoiler. I'll not say anything else lol
