As you noticed with the gaming poster's in Yu's room, the video game references in this series tend to be more accurate/aware of gaming than most. The author of the manga, Aka, is a gaming fan himself and through the run of the manga in the bonus volume chapters talks about some of his interests, such as PUBG when that was all the rage, then eventually Apex when that started gaining major attention in Japan. He's also talked about enjoying watching vtubers, and there were a few references/cameos to some he liked in the manga. Some small clarifications from the ep: Yu Ishigami is a first year while the rest of the council are currently second years. (Was a small moment where this was said, might have been missed) Ai Hayasaka is the name of Kaguya's maid.

2023-01-29 21:06:34 +0000 UTCI think my favorite underrated thing about Kaguyasama is the genuine growth of friendship between Kaguya and Ishigami and the fact it stays entirely platonic. In a lesser romance or comedy show there would have been actual drama about them maybe having feelings for each other but nope they remain friends and never pretends to be anything other then that, more anime needs to do that.

2023-01-29 14:31:13 +0000 UTCFunny you should comment on Kei in the opening this episode when she shows up proper. I think we've kinda seen her before but maybe not the face? Man, Shirogane's mentality around studying and test results is so fucking self destructive, I know because guess what? He just like me fr fr. My man is running himself ragged, working himself to the bone, all to justify himself and his position. It's really unhealthy and from my understanding not that uncommon in Japan for students to have that mind set. Actually, this is kinda the part where I went from liking this series to loving it because it starts having these real ass moments. Really takes it one step beyond. Kinda like how Bocchi the Rock did last season. Favourite character so far? Well, I'll say my favourite character is in the intro but hasn't shown up yet so I guess for the moment I'll say Miyuki Shirogane.
