My head canon is that by having everone belive in the painted lady and healing the lake, the Painted Lay became real. SO its not that the spirit was lazy, there actions gave rise to her.

2023-02-06 04:14:30 +0000 UTCNo spoiler info regarding Avatar movies, sequels, live action adaptations, and so on: definitely DO NOT watch the live action movie made by Shyamalan years ago, it's absolutely terrible and not worth wasting your time on. There's another animated series, Legend of Korra, which follows a different Avatar in a different era. It's a little up and down, in part because the creators were jerked around by Nickelodeon behind the scenes, but of the four seasons two are pretty good, one is fantastic, and the other one is... ehhh. Overall, worth a watch. There are comics which follow the end of this series, some of which are pretty good, some of which are okay, and some are just kind of... there. None of them that I've read are bad, but some were a little unnecessary and didn't have much to them. There's a new live action adaptation that's supposed to be coming to Netflix, made by the original creators IIRC. There's no release date for it yet, but it's pretty widely thought that it will come out some time later this year. Edit: also of note, there's an animated series on Netflix that was made by one of the lead writers of Avatar, called The Dragon Prince, which a little bit like if Avatar was taking place in a more Western, almost D&D style fantasy world. I haven't seen the newest season that's out yet, but the ones I have seen are pretty good. (Although the animation in the first season throws some people at first because the frame rate and such is a little choppy.) Also, there are plenty of babies there for you to gush over. 2023-02-05 20:37:34 +0000 UTCi think the River Spirit couldn't help because the river was polluted, and she's the spirit OF the river. kind of like how the destruction of the forest twisted Heibai into a monster. the thing they are the spirit of being altered or affected impacts the spirit too. :o just my theory. EDIT: already mentioned by others, ignore me.

2023-02-05 16:22:11 +0000 UTCI understand that some people don't like Korra because (a) Avatar was near perfect so it’s hard to measure up and (b) Korra has quite a different setting and tone. But not liking a sequel doesn’t take away anything from the original. Because of all the bad-mouthing it took me years to give Korra a chance and I was suprised how much I liked it. I actually think it was a good decision to get creative and make it so different from Avatar. It certainly has some weaker episodes and storylines but taken on its own it’s a very good show.

2023-02-05 15:59:58 +0000 UTCThere arent any roumors, its all true. Previously the studio was under nickelodeon and nickelodeon stopped giving the team work after Legend of Korra. But paramount gave them a whole studio and publishing for themselves called Avatar Studios in 2021. At 1st we only got a Tabletop rpg based in the avatar universe, but we have confirmed movies of previous avatars, and the two main characters ones, a movie about Zuko, a movie about the main gang as adults and similar, not to mention a third main avatar series in the making. There is also the much more appealing netflix live action of the original coming which is actually made with love towards the series.

So happy to see a double reaction today :D also, if you remember Roku while possesing Aang bended the lava at the temple, so you are right, firebenders can lava bend, but I am not sure if they need to be master level to do so (?) or maybe Roku was an exception cause he is an Avatar, not sure.
