I think Azula loves Zuko in her way. I think that way is twisted but in her mind I think she is looking out for him,

Maddie the witch

That was offscreen, we dont know if they saw her, i mean, she didnt teleport there, did she?

Faroth

But none of the kids ever saw Katara pretending to be his mom. Also, wasn't she wearing a fake belly etc?

Anzac-A1

Imagine some kids thought the same? Like, “Hey, yo! Is Kuzon hitting on his own mom?!”. And someone says, “I mean, she is hot, but…that feels not flame.”, or something.

Almas Baibolov

that weird moment when aang just start dance-flirting with his mom

Faroth

best outfits in the fire-nation arc. love how they are humanizing the fair nation people

Winter Turnip

Actually even more. The final decision to turn his back on his father and help Aang comes at the eclipse which is like the halfway point of book 3. First half is still figuring out what makes him happy and realizing that being home and having his fathers approval is not doing it. So its like 5/6 of the show before he turns for good. He spends about 80% of the show either as the villain and/or confused and searching for his path. And I love that too.

Levi Ackerman

Zuko is my favourite villain redemption story. simply becouse no other story has ever dared to show the transition stage take this long. usuallly its 60% villain-10% confusion 30% hero. but here almost 2/3 of the show is zuko trying to find who he is, and who he wants to be

Igor Chmurski

😂 twitter, that didn't age well.

Nakama Forever

I think it's just 100 year old slang so no one uses it anymore

Munir

Plz delete. Cuz She will expect it

Ivan

I think Kuzon was fucking with him honestly with the "stay flamin" and "hotman"

Divi Forrester

The winners in war war are good and they decide what happens in the history books. very much like our world

Thanks for the episode

Another great reaction to another great episode, definitely one of Aangs strongest episodes, doesn't need to be anything heavy, just a simple dance party. And Zuko man the interactions between him and his uncle were so heartbreaking. Can't wait for the next episode :)

It's not that surprising, Azula is extremely manipulative and I can't think of a single moment in S2 that she does or says anything that isn't in her self interest. I agree that the warning was probably not malicious though, although she probably gets some satisfaction out of stressing him out.

Munir

The episode might be a little silly, but like all else in the show it is so reminiscent of real life world war 2, where several types of music and dances (jazz for example) were considered lesser and even outright forbidden in occupied countries, not to mention the homeland. I will never get tired of how well this show represents real life war and its effects on all involved, while still remaining wholesome and kid appropriate, I love it so much, and this is the show I grew up with, which probably helped shape my love for history :D. As always love your reactions, specially to Avatar <3

Bardukite

Aang had CRAZY rizz. He was a madman fr.

A lot to unpack in this episode. The "Footloose" episode was meant to show the Gaang that the fire nation may be the enemy but the people aren't inherently evil. They go to school, play games, and have institutionalized patriotic propaganda just like us. (America, fuck yeah!) Zuko has gotten everything he's ever wanted, but it feels hollow. He's dealing with his feelings over what he had to do to get back home, but honestly Zuko isn't the most emotionally enlightened person. As for what you said about Azula manipulating him with the Iroh visit, I believe she was being honest. Azula doesn't usually let her walls down, but this was one of those times. In her own fucked up way, Zuko is one of the people she can be herself around, and if he were to unintentionally start rumors of succession and treason it would possibly blow back on Azula. Iroh probably knows this also, which is probably part of the reason he's keeping quiet. Also, things are kind of perfect for Azula right now. Her gloomy friend is happy, Ty Lee is always happy, her dumb brother is there as a lightning rod in case of emergency, and she helped bring down the biggest force standing against the Fire nation. Ensuring Zuko doesn't fuck it up is kind of her most important job. So when she suspected he was feeling guilty for betraying Iroh she tested the waters and when she found out he did go visit she warned him against it. She likes her life the way it is right now so she was uncharacteristically sincere, even calling him Dumb-Dumb instead of her condescending pet name Zuzu. Hope you're doing well 💗 Lots of love

At this point Mei is the only "nice" thing he has at home, as he always has to look out for Azula schemes or his father. As kid wen crazy when he just ignore Azula to keep kissing

Sven Hegenbart

If you want another lighthearted and quick show, Gravity Falls is fantastic.

Kataang4Life Also, here's my reading of Zuko's talks with Iroh. Zuko knows deep down that everything he's doing now is wrong. He feels it, constantly, and it's tormenting him. Iroh knows exactly what's happening deep down in Zuko's soul, the the stuff they'd been through nd everything he'd tried to teach him is still there, and he's at a point where he's sunken deep enough into a proverbial "hell" that the only thing left for him to figure out is whether or not he's going to totally abandon everything good natured about himself, the love his mother and uncle gave him, and what his destiny deep down truly is. It's the same feeling you got when you were a kid and you lied to your dad for the first time, multiplied by 16-17 years of being a member of this crazy fuckin' despotic family. Zuko's got no one left, no true source of good to guide him, so now he has to truly dig deep down into himself and decided what's wrong and what's right. Because Iroh won't give him the answers this time.

AlexXis Amadeus

y'all ever seen footloose?

Grei Glace

The only person in his family other than Iroh to show Zuko affection was his mother and he can't go to her because she is gone

Trevor Appel

the chemistry between Katara and Aang in this episode is amazing

Princess Paladin

A fun episode with since good Zuko and Iroh. Can't wait for the Avatar and the Firelord episode. The beach is also a good one.

Jonathan Canfield

Thank you for the episode!!

Lemon Rat

I actually disagree, there are at least 2 moments (so far) where I can recall her voice changing from that unnerving way she usually talks into something more serious and calm. One such occasion is in the season 2 finale, where she tells Zuko he restored his own honor by siding with her. Another happens this episode. You can actually hear a change in the usual inflection when she tells him to “be careful, dum-dum.” Also, that “Azula always lies” thing isn’t a confirmation of anything. Zuko said that when he was a child and she only ever antagonized him then.

FOOTLOOSE EPISODE

Princess Paladin

Azula's VA is menacing throughout her entire performance, so no matter what her intentions are, you can't be sure if she's manipulating or not. People remember that "Azula always lies."

Cogfather

This is such a fun episode in the main storyline but with a stark contrast for Zuko and Iroh. That Iroh is not talking reminds the viewer of the fact that his original voice actor Mako had died, which intentional or not gives weight to the impression that, due to Zuko's betrayal, something has died in Iroh as well.

Bernhard

FIRE. WANG FIRE. Sokka really be out there slingin' his STI status...

rrrebo

It’s really interesting to me how many people find Azula warning Zuko this episode suspicious. Realistically there’d be absolutely no reason for her to talk to Zuko at all if she wasn’t trying to look out for him. The viewers (and even characters) are so conditioned at this point to see Azula as a monster that’s always up to something that they actively refuse to look at her any other way. Anyway, I’m definitely looking forward to you getting to see more scenes with her (and the other characters too). Ngl this is probably my favorite out of all 3 of the seasons. I know a lot of people like Book 2 the most, but Book 3 just has so many great and iconic moments that I have to rank it at the top.
